Around the world, while the governments, politicians and muti-national corporations talk about buying from China and global economies, we the people feel that we should buy local or buy from our own USA producers. And why not? Until NAFTA passed, that is the way it was and it worked well!  I remember when NAFTA legislation was up for a vote. Polls showed 90% of Americans were against NAFTA. But both the Democrats and Republicans voted for it and “pushed it through” against vocal, extremely  enraged citizen protests. SOUND FAMILIAR?  Until then, USA quality was unsurpassed, and people had jobs.

We are all  concerned about our neighbors and families out of work, looking for jobs. Losing homes, losing dignity, losing hope. All people around the world want a good standard of living.  Unfortunately, illegal aliens take jobs here in America that belong to  American  citizens by their birthright and their constitution.  You know those folks, they are all around you.  Americans who get walked on,  who play by the rules, who follow the laws, who respect their constitution and their country.   If multi-national corps.  really wanted to help illegal aliens, they would not exploit them as cheap labor here, but begin projects and help develop business and  factories in home countries so workers could live and work, and earn a decent living in their own countries. I expect  most people would prefer a good living in their home town, living and working among their own families rather than   being cheap labor here.

  So- See America first. Buy America first! This is your glorious country.

Tonight we anticipate up to 2 feet of snow over the weekend in the Mid-Atlantic-where Fresh Toppings TM -the natural ,anti-aging skin care products are made up fresh for you! 

The air is crisp, cold and damp. Brrr. Yikes!  What does this weather do to our  skin ?  

Outdoors-  in wind, snow and extreme chill,  our skin  loses moisture and softness. It can even chap or become sore and cracked. Especially lips. 

Indoors-  skin  becomes dehydrated, as the skin is exposed to dry heat and low humidity of winter.

THIS IS EVAPORATION- the process whereby your skin’s water becomes a gas and moves into the atmosphere.

Do you remember chemistry 101? Moisture (water)  in your skin- moves away from higher moisture content… and  towards lower moisture content ( in the the air) to achieve an even distribution of water molecules in the air. Your skin pays for it!

  So-…. If your room has low moisture, the moisture in your skin evaporates out of your skin into the room air , which has  lower humidity content.  You get dry ( low water) in your skin, much the same as when it sweats- but this wicking out of the skin and into the air is more than the skin can take.  For chemisty review- See the Daily Apple Blog -It’s the Humidity.

DRY SKIN AND CRACKED SKIN ON LIPS OR HEALS OR HANDS OFTEN RESULTS. Just rubbing a hand or face cream on from the drug store or department store will not help if they are either a water based or petroleum based product. (most are!) 

You have to address both problems, lack of oil and lack of water in the skin.

The ingredients you need are:

•  Gylcerine, which attracts moisture.
• African Shea butter -a natural moisturizer.
• Emu Oil- a natural healer, also calms redness.
• Natural oils like  sunflower or olive oil.
• Beeswax- a natural barrier product.
• Natural Hawaii Coconut Cream- a barrier product and moisturizer.

THE FRESH TOPPINGS PLAN-

1.    First use a moisturizer like our Restore or Restore Light Anti-aging face cream, full of shea butter and emu oil, olive oil, etc. to re-moisturize the skin ,plump it up, sooth it.
2.  Second, if very dehydrated and cracked, use the fresh Whipped Body Butter , layered over top  of the Restore  moisturizer. The whipped body butter acts  as a barrier, to seal and trap water in the skin.

Lets talk about skin anatomy and characteristics. When I hosted my radio show “Lasting Effects TM” here in Maryland a few summers ago, a frequest topic came up on skin care.

As a professionally trained electrologist, I often dealt with my patient’s problems with dry skin. I set out to learn more about why their  skin was dry and how we could solve the problem. This is  in the previous post.

Lets talk about the indirect result of dry skin- loss of freshness and softness, a scaly dead look to the skin.

First things first- Healthy skin comes from the inside out, not by peeling away outside layers.

Basic skin anatomy- Your skin has three major layers. The epidermis is the outside layer and is primarily a dead layer of skin. This is the part that so many of you are constantly trying  to slough off with those acids like Alpha hydroxy’s ( glycolic, etc.) ,in your skin creams and soaps,   Retin-A , and even the big gun “laser resurfacing” ! Yikes, what an assault on the poor skin.

The two major inside layers contain new and developing skin, which then slowly works it’s way up to the surface to become the dead, outer layer. Fixing the two inner layers gives the skin lasting beauty and radiance…. not vigorously scrubbing off the outer layer with acids. If you buy bad, dried out  fruit, no amount of cleaning and scrubbing the outside skin will cause the inside fruit to be pretty and lucious!

The  truth is that naturally beautiful skin is it’s own reward- and can be easy to obtain- -your goal is to simultaneously-

• Heal and nourish your skin by building the components health up on the inside

Fresh Toppings Natural Anti-aging Skin Care-Tips for Dry Winter Skin

Dry skin in the winter is a common problem. You may wonder why most commercial skin lotions and face creams seem to either vanish shortly after you apply them or they  don’t relieve  the tightness or dryness. Let’s take a look.

You will find that ingredients matter!

For dry skin- you need a natural, rich and creamy moisturizer to impart softness- like shea butter or mango butter. Your skin absorbs this.

• For richness, healing, soothing and deep penetration into the skin you need emu oil. Your skin absorbs this too.
• For moisture rentention- gylcerine is excellent.
• For trapping of water that is already in the skin- beeswax is excellent.

FYI- Most commercial hand and body lotions have a base of  :

1. Water
2. Vaseline or mineral oil which are Petroleum products. They sit on top of the skin and act as a barrier , they  do not penetrate the skin nor  moisturize. Obviously water is not an effective moisturizer for dry skin.

If you are using a commercial cream or lotion  primarily made of a base of water and petroleum, good luck! They do not relieve dryness, even if they charge $ 75.00 a jar.

• Check out the database called SKIN DEEP. Type in the name of one of your favorite skin creams and see the report on the rating of ingredients and their danger to you. 

• Some come from the water you drink, which can have the remanents of drugs that were flushed down the toliet or introduced into the water supply. This includes antibiotics and anti-depressants.

• Chemicals and pesticides that you handle, spray, bomb or walk through are absorbed into your body, just like they are with pests. If pesticides can penetrate the hard shell of an insect, surely they go through human skin.

• Evaluate  to your satisfaction whether  you are being given real concentrations of the ingredients you admire and seek.  And if the product is full of unpronounceable chemicals- better check www. SKIN DEEP to see what your skin and body are  consuming!
• You can not gain the reported benefit if the amount is minimal. 

For example- Emu Oil has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin quickly, and it is known to remove age spots. It appears to build and repair the skin underneath the age spot, move the fresh skin up and thereby lift off the  aged skin with the spot.  I have seen client after client use our pure Emu Oil scented with E.O called RESTORE OIL- to remove age spots  with success. And it works quickly too!

Real life example- If you use pure 100% Emu Oil on an age spot, it will lift much faster than if you use a 10% diluted form.
